Paraprofessional Substitute Teacher
Job Description:
Currently looking for Substitute Paraprofessionals for all grade levels and subjects.
This is a substitute teaching position. Individuals will be called to fill in for the permanent paraprofessionals when they are absent to assist, support, and work closely with teachers, administrators, and other team members in providing educational benefit for students in a public school setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Understanding and sensitivity to the needs of each student and recognizing differences in their abilities.
- Assist the classroom teachers in maintaining classroom control that fosters a safe, positive environment for all students.
- Ensure quality supervision of students
- Working with individual students as well as small groups of students.
- Supporting and assisting fellow staff and administration as needed
- Developing and maintaining positive student, teacher, staff, and parent relationships
- Encouraging and modeling positive and appropriate classroom behavior
- Maintaining a positive attitude even in times of crisis or stress
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Authorize and satisfactorily complete a background check
- Possess good judgment and demonstrate ethical behavior in a school setting
- Experience working with children
- Strong work ethic
- Great organizational skills
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to the changing needs of students, teachers, parents, and school staff
- Must have a negative Tuberculosis (TB) test completed by a licensed health care professional dated within the past 12 months.
- Must provide contact information (including email addresses) for 2 references
